Church-made Movie

It is one thing when the congregation works together for a charity event, mission trip, prayer station on the street, but making a movie? That's an interestingly new idea, from Sherwood Baptist Church, Georgia. Of course, the challenges would be finding talents, morale control as well as doctrinal concerns.

Nonetheless, the necessity of this kind of creativity definitely beats that of those who would only follow the the back of others if only they are popular and successful.

On Predestination

It is said that the doctrine of Predestination is not a necessary tool for preaching. I believe it is true to some extend.

When Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, how many remember the names of those researchers, scientists and directors behind the NASA project? Who's going to talk about man on the moon if you don't tell them Neil Armstrong first?

It is said that God will not help those who don't help themselves. Many couldn't accept Predestination because they view this statement from an observer's reference frame. Unless you've truly taken the effort to help yourself and further study the sovereignty of God and the true disgusting nature of our fallen state, it is rather difficult to imagine that one could get this far if God had not laid the hidden steps, a set of very personal steps first.

On Honoring Parents

I have a theory, that those who love to fire people, either at work or in churches, tend to have problem with one if not both of his parents. Of course, usually in churches, their excuse would be: I don't like firing people, I just have no choice.

How Nice is Jesus?

Many define what is nice first, then they accept Jesus.

But I say it is right to accept Jesus as Lord first, then define what is nice.

Christianity vs Islam

When I came across this article about Muslim background believers being persecuted as Christians, even in America, by their Muslim family, etc., I come to wonder one thing:

It is known that the Muslims hold to their faith more seriously and tighter than today's Christians. But when one holds their faith to a point they will threaten their own for leaving such faith, which indeed is the greatest crime in Islam faith, any normal human being has to wonder of the validity of such faith. In the Bible, the only reason one would leave God is of selfish reason. But if someone is to be punished for seeking the truth, that is against Allah's essence. A real Allah does not need social pressure to keep His people in and He will punish those who seek not the truth of Him.

No More Money Orders for Ebay

Well, looks like for security reason, Ebay's going to ban money orders or checks as payment method by end of October. Now I'll just have to rely on their faulty buyer's verified-but-sometimes-cannot-handle-multiple-address-mailing-system and nit-picking post office staff for my P.O. Box. Hope these will be resolved in the future. But then again, I don't see I will be ordering much these days. And perhaps Ebay's not the only way to go for cheap stuffs today.

After upgrading to Windows XP SP3 from SP2, Windows Update, Messenger Install fail

Solution Source: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=3308206&SiteID=17

Thanks to Gary.

Just go to C:\Windows\System32 and find and register Wups2.dll.

To do that, right click on it and select 'Open With' then 'Choose Program' and find C:\Windows\System32\Regsvr32.

If you choose to 'Always use the selected program to open this kind of file' then all you will have to do is double click on any .dll to register it.

Once you have registered Wups2.dll, restart, your problem will disappear.

On Charity from America

There have been a lot a news about charity workers being capture in certain countries. And if they appear to look like Americans, they are given harsher executions. Usually due to blaming their economy and social depreciation on the cunning hypocritical manipulation of Western giant nations. It is amazing so many youths would love to go on the so called "mission trips" from America.

I wonder, if these are willing to pay for the sins of their people, why not let them? If they bring chaos, then put order, not execution.

I believe such charity is always good. However, it is often foolishly organized, resulting in huge waste of money and energy.
