A couple of weeks ago, we finally did it. Couldn't stand the poor signal with Metro after they made the alleged upgrade in my area, and I lost signal all the time for more than two weeks. Their tech support was no help. I even wasted time and money ordering extra Metro sim card just to test it.
With T-Mobile Magenta Max $140/month (highest cost plan) we get buy two lines and get 1 free line, plus free Netflix Standard subscription (2 screens, HD quality), a $15/month value. Totaling around $170 including my discounted Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 126GB phone upgrade from S8 plus trade in. I also get 2 free Samsung Galaxy A32 5G phones. All of them are not unlocked, so have to wait for the 2 year contract to end. And they had to charge tax on all of them at full retail price.
Now this 5G phone definitely is much better. Faster, better signal, though South Amboy has always seen less coverage than other places. Hopefully this will improve in the future with the value of this city apparently going up.
Other cool perks with Magenta Max is free international calling and data as well as in flight free calling, etc.
Bye bye Metro, it's been a long time, since 2017 if not earlier, but you've forced my hand, the $110/month deal doesn't work for us anymore.
