Phil Robertson of the Duck Dynasty

When I first heard the news about how A&E put Duck Dynasty's reality show on hiatus due to his anti-gay remark on GQ magazine, I thought it is just like many other news that discriminate Christians for calling homosexuality a sin in public. When I saw Phil Robertson's attire, I thought him to be the Harley-Davidson motorbike rider gang member.

After reading his profile, I learned to respect him a little bit. Once a hippie of the 60s, Robertson involved himself with drug, sex, rock and roll, etc., until he hit rock bottom and came to Christ. Now he owns a very wealthy family owned business selling duck hunter products, particularly the "duck call" or Duck Commander, which is the company's name as well. The products are made from Louisiana woods.

He'd had issue with A&E before (2012) regarding them trying to ban him from using the name "Jesus" in his prayer as well as putting fake profanity bleeps.

If I have the time, I will take a look at the show. I think this fad will make for high rating for a while.

It is a curious thought, that of all Christians who are against homosexuality, a great number of some would prefer to keep quiet on the matter amidst non-believers while the others pay for the front line charge.
