Beware of these

When Stephen Tong passes, there will be those who once broke up terribly with him coming back crying at his funeral. Or as if they really care.

Beware of these.

I recall a Serena Lin, who after getting her fellow pastor David Chen dismissed, stayed away from him until she heard of his cancer and told me how surprised she was because he never responded to her call.

Let them drown in their own hypocrisy. Perhaps after that, they may learn to repent. Better near them after their repentance than before.

One Response to Beware of these

Thinking back at this, I realize this maybe a common human trait. A sinful one of course. That after ghosting someone they know, or after being separated, losing touch, they would show care if something fatal has happened to the other person. Yes, there are those who would remain estrange or indifferent to those dying, but that's because they are not Christians and admittedly so themselves.

No, the ones that do claim themselves to be Christians enough to walk the path, forget how it is to love, to forgive, to reconcile, to fellowship with other fellow Christians. And the final and only attempt for reconciliation at another's death bed would be more of a sort of bragging in disguise (Aha, look, you are sick now, you are dying, accept my sympathy). This unrepentant behavior is disgusting! If people like Serena had cared enough to have a close relationship with Christ all the time, she would not have done so to David Chen unrepentantly.

In the end, they cannot hide their fake care. They try to show it, but it is unmasked before the world, it is rebuked by faithful servants of God.
