My Lifebook-p1510d tablet Blue Screen

Faced the rare case but not the only time of the blue screen of death on my laptop.

I believe it's caused by Avira's antivir trying to update, because after restart, it was disabled. clicked on update option manually, enabled guard, everything seems fine now.

Room Cleaning

Relocated my multi function printer so I could see its status screen. 1 Aquarium cleaned. Will redecorate for freshwater fishes. Peacock fishes have lasted several generations in my old dirty tank. Once I found divider for the redecorated tank, I will relocate the fishes, hope they can survive. Half dry land tank shows much potention for creativity. Just need to make sure divider will support gravel side pressure.

I have sketched a possible projector system. Which means I would have to drill ceiling for projector and the slab on the right for retractable screen. Sound system would have to remain headsets due to neighbors. I have bought for NYGC such projector screen of 100" for around $100. And I have seen projectors priced for $300-$400. If I do this, I may have to sacrifice getting a DSLR camera, which I would primarily use for astrophotography anyway.

But then again, I have little use with big projections unless I have sometime to study in large size.

So I will worry about the tanks and cleaning first for now.

Simple sketch for my room. Stars are where fish tanks can go. Projector system not installed yet, but this seems to be best spot.

Three types of Aquarium design. One fully water filled. Two, half wet half dry with divider thus making higher levels. Three, like two, but without divider thus lower levels.

Laksa for Christmas

Apparently they loved the laksa on Thanksgiving Sunday that the organizer deacon wished I make laksa for the Christmas time, with more noodles.

I supposed my bubur cha-cha which was harder to make wasn't too favored by certain percentage. With the soup pack, making laksa has been a lot easier.

White Lies, better put by John MacArthur

Remembering a sermon by Pastor MacArthur, "A Conquering, Courageous Faith, Part 1" Code 90-388, where he spoke of Rahab lying to savee the spies.

"Was that the truth? No, it was a lie. Was it necessary? No, it’s never necessary. Would God have protected the spies if she had told the truth? Absolutely. We would have just had a different story of how God protected the spies. This doesn’t justify the lie, but we can commend her for her courage in the case of hiding them."

The Last Supper by Peter Greenaway

Last night I visited the Park Avenue Armory, after noting the news on NY1.

The exhibit was a up to scale remake of Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper. Using digital lights to show shadows and prominent features of the painting in various 3-dimensional illustrations while the painting remains. Very impressive. Although, I think $15 is a bit too much for me, unless I could record it or own the digital video somehow.

Later, was a quick demo of another painting. Veronese's Wedding at Cana. Thanks to the 3D technology in paintings, I learned how closely authentic this feast table was (though a good artist may easily spot it), the U shaped table common to the ancients. I really doubt there are any, if none, popular paintings of the feast tables of those times. But I'm sure Leonardo knew it and he had only intended his painting to show more colors than facts.

Recalling Christian movies

There have been several recent Christian films that I have remembered quite well:

Fireproof: About a husband and wife relationship gone wrong. Husband is a fireman, played by Kirk Cameron (preacher/actor), watched porn online, wife works in the hospital, attracted to a doctor.

Time Changer: 19th Century Bible scholar travelled into the future after having an argument  with a colleague regarding the importance of putting the Lordship of Jesus Christ over moral values.

Oversold: Inspired by the Book of Hosea, a short film about a pastor fallen in love for a woman who turned out to be a stripper. Although, I would say the style on the Christian side is still too wild. I believe a man of God could do this in a more proper and conservative manner.

Pilgrim's Progress-Journey to Heaven: Of John Bunyan's work. I haven't watched this yet. Though from the preview, seems a bit boring, but it's the Pilgrim's Progress!

The other movies such as "Facing the Giants", "The Blind Side", etc. aren't my list of favorites eventhough they might have better "movie" effects or even Christian theme. Because their focus is about some sports game and winning it.

Of course, there are always the classics by Charlton Heston such as The Ten Commandments, Ben Hur.

On the slightly off topic, I noticed how popular shows such as Miracle on 42nd Street and even lots of Disney's "ethic" films are a bad influence for the minds. Because they portray a godless world between good and evil. Those affected Christians, generally the youth and that of my generation, even the charismatics,  who love these kind of shows, generally have a corrupted notion of hating sinners who do not come to Christ now.

Go Ask Malice

While cleaning up, I found this old orange pen given to me years ago for either something I bought or just come free craigslist gift.

The pen is inscribed "Need Advice?" www.GoAskMalice.com

I thought it would be fun to keep it and find out what this strange person is going to achieve.

Apparently the website is still going. I don't remember how it was in the beginning, but it has a few pages of advices. I don't have time to read them now, but admire her enthusiasm. However, my first impression is...narcissism.

Richard Wagner's deal with Jews

I learned today that famous composer, german, Richard Wagner has a great deal of problems with Jewish musicians, musics, etc.

Evidence could be found in his work: Das Judenthum in der Musik (Jewishness in Music). As for how Adolf Hitler admired him, I do not know.

There's really no neutral party

Right, Wrong or "I don't know": One can never escape from the responsibility of any of those three judgments one has made.

Because each of those three, doesn't come without responsibility.
