Problem with Western Reformed Church

Although the reformed doctrine is true and firm even today, the reformed churches in the Western world seemed to have failed much.

In a way, it hasn't failed. For the parents do care for the well beings of their children.

So that is not the problem. The problem is: there is no power and strength in spreading the Gospel outwardly. Consequently, they suffer implosion.

Putting those "Reformed" titled churches that have actually followed the path of pop churches aside, I would say the greatest problems of today's Western, Reformed churches are loyalists and aristocracy. Perhaps an unavoidable corrupted nature of man from the Jews to the Roman Catholics and to these.

Judging Others

It is ironically interesting to note that those who love to consider themselves non-judgmental are in need of the verse in Matthew 7.

For these actually have put themselves in a position where they are like an outside observers, having no involvement in the goings of the world, making them "not as sinful or responsible" as the average human beings.

So "Judge not, that ye be not judged...", and they are stuck here with their ignorance and shallowmindedness. For they cannot realize it is a God given nature to judge. So instead of realizing how much improvement they have to make on themselves to not be a hypocrite or living in their "I am alien observing the human race" fantasy, instead of realizing the next few verses' connection to the first, they HAVE TO misinterpret it as "not applying to themselves for they are not involved", but applying to those who bring wars and conflicts.

"Church" Fellowships/Activities that Waste My Time

I have said any activities outside of the Sunday worship service and works is a waste of my time.

I said it not from principle, but from experience and only by experience can I say this.

It is better to host a good fellowship, than to expect everyone to co-operate together. For calling belongs first to individual, so is salvation.

Norton Really is the Culprit in Most Cases

Symantec's antivirus software not only slows system (McAfee too), under certain conditions (ie. expired, firewall, blocking useful programs for no reason), it could be the cause of some other program not running properly, even after its removal.

At one client, after uninstalling a client's Norton (I think it was halfway uninstalled...or halfway shutting down after restart request), since there's a lot of stalling (more than 30 minutes) during the uninstallation/restart process, I believe I force shut down during the Shutting Down... screen, out of impatience.

Then, I noticed the newly installed ACT! 2008 couldn't access a certain network database (anymore? - not sure if I tried it before Norton uninstallation). Not knowing Norton could still be the culprit after its removal, I tried all kinds of methods I could think of...from uninstalling ACT! 2008 to changing windows user account to firewall settings to everything other small tricks I could think of.

After a couple of days, I finally solved it this morning with one last solution I carried with me since I woke up.

I remembered Norton has provided a special Removal tool to remove all Norton products once and for all. I was half sure that the ACT! problem may have something to do with the already removed norton, but I didn't want to believe the first uninstallation attempt wasn't complete and that Norton's Removal Tool would do any better.

But after downloading the removal tool from the official site and running the process, ACT! 2008 worked like a charm. Problem Solved.

Microsoft Access 2003 #Deleted memo field

Record is deleted. That's the error message when I tried to edit the #Deleted memo field of particular records.

Consequently, I cannot change this corrupted memo field.

Solution: Tools -> Database Utilities -> Compact and Repair Database...

Now the Memo field is empty and free for modification.

This way I don't have to deleted and re-enter the whole record.

Strabismus

Strabismus: abnormal eye alignment, cross eyes. Intermittent or Constant

Usually occur in infants as their brains learn to control both eyes simultaneously.

Intermittent Strabismus could happen in some adult (like me) when eyes get tired.

4 Sub terms - one eye in the middle while the other not:

1. Esotropia (Most popular, when the other eye points to the steady eye - converged vision)

2. Exotropia (when the other eye points away - diverged vision)

3. Hypotropia (when the other eye points downward)

4. Hypertropia  (when the other eye points upward)

My case is esotropia, happens when my eyes are tired, at which time I could control the movement of eyes. It is harder to do esotropia at waking state. Although, it can be done by identifying which eye is responsible for which vision during double vision (cross eye-converged vision, or diverged vision)

I have thought my case is related to myopia. Since having to converge vision in shorter distance, the muscle may have strained inwardly, causing esotropia when tired (not aware).

Another interesting note is my left eye would always stay while the right eye is the moving one. It would be harder to switch roles.

I wonder if this is due to my right eye being more nearsighted.

I am also wondering if I'm having strabismus during deep sleep.

I would think it may have been caused by force awake during tired moments, making the eyes begin to sleep while eye lids were still open, when the brain probably has no strength to control the eyes. If this is true, it would be a habitual case.

Christian Today vs. Christianity Today

I think I can tell the difference between Christian Today and Christianity Today magazines, just by reading the articles.

The former deals with catholic type humanism; the latter on questionable evangelistic theology.

On American's "How Are You?" Greeting

I have noted before that I rarely use "how are you" as greeting.

However, just because such uses are favored by hypocrites and criticized by me, doesn't mean that I am forbidden to use this neutral phrase.

The only difference is, I should know when to use it, in all sincerity and all truth.
