Specious Approach to Matthew 9:37

"The Harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few"
Many read this and take it upon themselves to be the labourers. They imagine that the purpose of the verse is to promote the desire to serve in their hearts.

Therefore it is safe to say there is a need of acknowledging truly called men of God on top of prayer, for true laborers are sent forth by the Lord of the harvest. And the self-appointed labourers need to be treated as intruders.

Vocabulary: Specious

Specious: Plausible but false

I recently read Gilbert Tennent's "The Danger of an Unconverted Ministry", and found many things I've been sorrowed towards the ministries in America being said there. The term Specious was used to describe such ministers.

Vocabulary: Cavil 吹毛求疵

Cavil: "An evasion of the point of an argument by raising irrelevant distinctions or objections"

I didn't know there's a word for this. Tho I have seen many smartypants trying to do this.

Journal Transfer: 2008-07-21 The Lordship of Jesus Christ

I believe most of us, at some point, considered Jesus not Lord, but merely a good friend. This is a problem, this kind of faith is equivalent to that of Judas Iscariot's (even though one might think he would not betray Jesus), for as the other 11 called Jesus, "Lord", at the first holy communion, Judas could not. Because of His TRUE Lordship, we find ourselves unworthy and in need of repentance. Because of God's righteousness, Christ was forsaken on the cross by GOD in his sacrifice for us. And because He is the Son of God, there can be no better sacrifice. Because He is the Son of God, He is worthy of worship, and because He is worthy of worship, He can only be of divine equivalent with God and therefore the triune God for there is ONE GOD, a concept beyond human understanding except by faith according to the Scripture.

Journal Transfer: 2008-07-21 The Principle of Learning and Teaching

I gather that there can be at least a thesis made for every infinitesimal subject. For that reason, it is not possible to fully grasp the absolute.

Therefore, it is necessary for a student, even teacher, to seek the connections between different level of theses. If there is a new thing, a connection must be formed first, otherwise, it must be made secondary or put aside, especially for teachers, despite how tempting it may stir up curiosity from either the students or the teacher himself.

I find this an important entry because I have seen a pastor loved to bring up data, even debunked theories for seemingly no purpose at all: As if he ran out of ideas to impress the audience, as if he wished to show off something he was sure no one else knew--wherefore where else lies the abundance of such curious informations other than the debunked controversies. For example: The word "call upon" in Genesis 4:26 also meant and held by many Rabbis to be the opposite meaning "profane". Another example: Some dead have been measured to lose a infinitesimal weight right after their last breath, this pastor wished the class to wonder about the possibility of the effect of the spirit leaving the body.

There are some you expect to be shallow, but usually, we find many who shouldn't be this shallow when it comes to the community of the educated, of those who are expected to work with the increase knowledge in Christ our Lord.

Fat Female Consistories in America

Why are there a high ratio of obese fat women at the rank of consistory in the Reformed churches of America?

I see today that many Reformed churches of America behave more like the Roman Catholics than true reformers.

On False Judgment

I've seen many Christians have false judgment and by trying to be nice, they kept it to themselves.

Could they be fooling themselves so much that they could acheive innocence with ignorance?

For these, I believe it is not their place to even keep their false judgment in their heads or hearts.

On Calling: Receive not Other's Cowardice

If I am offered again the advancement of that which God has not called me for, or yet, even from pastors such as Rev. Serena Lin, I shall note to them this verse:

1 Samuel 17:39 And David girded his sword upon his armor, and he attempted to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

1Sa 17:39 大卫把刀跨在战衣外,试试能走不能走;因为素来没有穿惯,就对扫罗说:「我穿戴这些不能走,因为素来没有穿惯。」於是摘脱了。
