On Martha

This can be the rule of thumb for those who serve and just can't stop blaming others by not following their examples and respond as if they can't find any other reason why this fellowship is failing.

If your only responses are "I already did my best", "Why can't others put more effort like me to serve?", then you are already on the wrong path.

It is rather that one responds: "Perhaps I should go study theology." And if one thinks theological study is for pastors and preachers, then this person is better off going to farming, because his diplomas or whatever degrees he has gotten, are garbage, he studied for the purpose of getting a good job, he studied for the purpose of good salary, for good positions and obviously, his offering is despicable for it comes from counterfeit talents. It is better that he refuses all church positions except those which require only the strength to sweep the floor, wipe the tables and clean the chairs.

I have seen enough of these people, these are like some of those whom I tutored, who only want answers but never the principles or methods of obtaining such answers.

Mega Churches Pastors

I hear many criticisms against lots of mega churches pastors, some went to the extreme of condemning them to hell.

I would only say there's a warning at Matthew 7 against these people.

However, as for those who love books and sermons by Joel Osteen, Rick Warren, etc. I would respond this: If Jesus had done it the way these pastors are doing, the Pharisees would never be so jealous of him, the Jews would never rise up against him, the Romans and people would never crucify him. All the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them shall be his back then, as Satan put it in Matthew 4:8.

On Gospel Camps

Statistically, today's so called "Gospel Camps" and "Music Ministries" are those ministries which have the greatest appearance, but the least effect.

Great Escapes for Pastors

All Christians, not just pastors, should escape from hell fire. But...

What kind of shepherd, when wolves arrive, flees faster than the sheep?

Concept of Friendship

"A friend in need is a friend indeed", this plain observation sounds like it rhymes more than it is useful.

Are we always in need?

Lately I've been troubled by one thing. As I shared with a couple whom I greatly love how I find ways to fill in my time with small jobs, selling little things online, etc., his wife immediately suggested that we should all be partners, to do business together. It is obvious that this wasn't just something I haven't considered, I believe I have, but perhaps for only a mere 0.001 millisecond. And my objective is obviously a leisure business, making use of what free time I have after coming home from work. I'm just rather amazed at her naive persistence. These are very nice couple, always love inviting people to their house.

I wonder, is this how friends often got used by another? Or perhaps I could learn from her enthusiasm, but with lots of caution, plenty lots.

So what really makes a true friendship?

A true friendship is not how long you have been visiting each other, exchanging gifts, talking, etc...

A true friendship is how much TRUTH you know of him.

Different Measures of Faith

It is true, that Paul in the scripture (Romans 14, 1Corinthians 8, etc.) spoke of different measures of faith and God wants those with greater faith to receive those with lesser faith with love and should not despise them. This is the unity of the family of Christ.

However, I have seen those who teach the "unity of Christians" to those with lesser faith that it is those with greater faith who has lesser faith and to have "sympathy" on them who are actually greater in faith.

This kind of perversion prevents the church from further growing in knowledge of Christ and causes a fake unity, making deceitful witness before the grace of God.

These false teachers will have serious judgment from God when the time comes.

Why shouldn't Salvation in Christ be Accomplished during Adam's Days?

Why not send Jesus right after Adam has sinned?
This is one of the stupidest question if it's from a pastor. For I have heard such question from a very shallow pastor.

To answer this:
If a man knows not righteousness, how can he be in need?
If he is not in need, how can he seek after righteousness?
If he seeks not after righteousness, why the need to give him righteousness?
Why should Christ come? If the world needs not sanctification.

Sophists: 詭辯學派者

Because of Protagoras' Homomensura (man is the measure of all things), we see the birth of Sophists.

This why we see many could do things with ulterior motives and yet not feel guilty.

Cash Gifting: a Scam vs Honest Business

I recently stumbled upon lots of cashgifting advertisements on Youtube.

It is remarkable that these scam artists are so convinced of their "integrity" in what they do as if you cannot find the word "scam" in their dictionary.

But I supposed, as there are other sins made legit out there, such as pornography, marriages other than between a man and a woman, cults, racism, etc...there's no surprise why those involved in such things as cash gifting aren't feeling guilty at all. The crafty term "gift/gifting" is used to avoid legal issues, unethically.

When we listen to promises, we must listen carefully. We must consider all odds if trust is required, because when we trust a promise, we are also accepting the possibility of the worst case scenario, despite how beautifully they try to manipulate the definition of "promise" with technical terms, emotions, numbers, intentions, etc. These people do love to prey on those who are truly in need. These are not thieves and robbers, no, they are worst than thieves and robbers.

As a rule of thumb:

1. Any ads that appear to describe how their systems work, yet when with close examination, they never really explain how the money flow works, these are scams or some of which are what many call "pyramid scam: the first one with the idea usually scammed the most money". True, there are people making money, those who are advertising. If they really want to call this legal, then I would call it Unethical. I already know their responses to this: "do some research before you...invest...", "it's your choice", "it works for some", "you lose sometimes", "success comes to those who take risks", no response-they have disappeared, etc.

2. If an ad shows all kinds of numbers, simple math additions and multiplications of what you "MAY" receive, earn, be awarded, it actually means to tell you that you are too dumb to calculate yourself and it is counting on your dumbness to fall into the scam.

3. Any such programs that don't tell you there's a fee/investment/membership cost/pay first and trust me/registration fee/deposit/etc., before they TRY to make it sound how wonderful their programs are, are scams. It is very much like some stores that don't display the prices and when you ask them the costs of their pricetag-less products, they try to look annoyed (especially when you decided not to buy) and make it seems that they are doing you a favor by telling you the prices.

4. When the founders obviously have nothing but pennies to lose, but something to gain. Using others' money to make bigger ads, etc.

5. If they INSIST on telling you testimonies than telling you why you should trust them, they are scammers.

I think these are all examples of those Christians who treat the Gospel as sales. Personally I believe the non-biblical American Evangelists are the ones responsible to start all these mayhem.

Running an honest business is not easy, a lot of wisdom is required, and the willingness to suffer losses, even due to honesty, and the diligence of disciplined principle learning, analyzing losses, studying and researching, the will power to strive with ethical integrity and not unethical justification.
