Update: My First P4 Computer

Well, at first I thought it was the memory. After an unfair trade, I might be wrong. Then it's the PSU, and no. Then the motherboard, wrong again(but the MSI 845PE/Neo does have a working FDD controller, unlike the old one with the machine). Then the only defected suspects left are the ATI video card and the 200GB HDD. I am not able to find the replacement for such to test them out. So, I could only wonder. Since I had bad experience with ATI products, I started to doubt it's ATI.

But this doubt leads to a dead end. So I had only the choice of eliminating the HDD being a suspect. All the test, and finally, I switched cables with DVD-ROM, seems to install right this time.

All this is about a HDD cable? The pevious one does seem bent at more places than the one now.

One problem with this new mobo is the reset button. Don't seem to reset. Just blank. Turns off instead. But this is less crucial.

[@more@]Well, looks like it's the ATI card. But when I put the original one back after installing Windows XP, everything works fine. Hope this is for good.

Business & Pleasure

The only reason for importing: Is because they are tired of the locals or found those futile.

And importing has such wide definition.

Oh, how I pity.

Book: Purpose Driven Life

I have yet to read this book entirely. But I have briefly skimmed through the pages. Rick Warren's (author/pastor of Saddleback Church) book is basically a 40 chapter/course book on living out a good christian life.

In otherwords, it is just another methodological christian book among thousands and thousands of them out there. It has no need to be viewed so highly upon as it is. I would read it when I have time to discover time travel.

The only reason it is so popular is because our dear Pastor Warren brought up one of the largest churches (20,000 attendance weekly average). Nonetheless, Orange County was already the most concentrated christian area not just in California, but on the ENTIRE EAST COST of Northern America. Thus, it is no shocking matter. It would be shocking if the church is any smaller.

In other words, this is nothing to be so proud of. Methods are good, ideas are good. It is the priviledge God has blessed our minds with. Nonetheless, by submitting to popularity of compromising doctrines with Epicureanism or such alike, and not the quality of the central focus of the word of God, we are no different than the 31,700 men who wanted to war against the Midianites, descendants of Keturah (Judges 7).

MOODLE: Good Educational CMS Module

I came across a good CMS module which is good for designing a virtual course. Perhaps even a virtual school? It has high recommendation from opensourceCMS.com. Of course, since it was a PhD Research.

Perhaps I'd use it someday. I have a few online courses of my own to share.

Thus Even?

Borrowing the examples from:

The case of 911-response to terrorists attack: When being ripped, justification by other indirect means.

When valued ship sunken by Arabian pirates, justification by "legally" stealing certain excessive treasure of the Arabian Country, saying, no one is getting hurt, they got more than enough...this form of pay back is just and satisfactory?

Not Showing Off

Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Mat 5:16 你们的光也当这样照在人前,叫他们看见你们的好行为,便将荣耀归给你们在天上的父。

Do it in the glory of God. As to whether or not one is honestly glorifying God, that's what one should be certain with NO EXCUSE.

Problem with Pentecostal Church

The main problem with the charismatic/pentecostal movement/church today is faith.

Although, their understanding of the Holy Spirit and "filled with the Holy Spirit" is also rather demented ergo exalting ONLY the Holy Spirit (emphasizing on the Holy Spirit) and perhaps unknowingly, themselves, rather than Jesus Christ, eventhough MOST of them are aware that Christ is the center of glorification and that the Holy Spirit has come to testify CHRIST (John 15:26).

Dr. Stephen Tong once said, paraphrasing Augustine: "What they gain in their curiosity will be lost in their pride" in reponse to the question: "What will happen to those who come to the Lord because of signs and miracles?". I wish I could find the direct quote of this.

Hence, the main issue is faith. The Christian faith is not superstitious faith, not self-confident faith, not blind faith, not self-built faith, these are not faith at all (Non Fide); The true faith, fidelity, faithfulness, is based on the word of God, the Truth, the Pormise of God, the Grace of God. A faith that will be a good testimony. Not one that is hypocritical. Hypocritical confession is not faith at all.

I pray that God will forgive my brothers and sisters who are persuaded by this movement of this era, and that they will come back to glorify Christ, and not themselves (whether knowingly or unknowingly). For our Lord Jesus Christ shall lose none which has been predestined and elected. Amen.
