Christian Counseling: The Satan Method

A Counselor that loves to use Satan's oppression as an excuse to avoid emotional struggles, is a bad counselor.

C.S. Lewis: Use Bad Christian instead of Not Christian?

From his book Mere Christianity, I quote: When a man who accepts the Christian doctrine lives unworthily of it, it is much clearer to say he is a bad Christian than to say he is not a Christian.

Now, it would appear that Lewis did not like to call the bluff on the profession of faith, but then he also said in the same book:

If conversion to Christianity makes no improvement in a man's outward actions – if he continues to be just a snobbish or spiteful or envious or ambitious as he was before – then I think we must suspect that his 'conversion' was largely imaginary.

The Homeless gives More

Recently it has become viral that many experimental videos on how homeless people are more willing to give/share food with others than the general public.

This sort of no-chemical but emotional experiment on human beings ought to stop. Making such point is important, but not at the expense of the dignity of homeless people. It is dishonest to them, even if you paid them eventually for their unrealized role in your films. Though they are homeless, their time is still valuable.

The originality of this idea goes to those who were willing to get their hands and pants dirty. I've seen how they've gotten injured a few times in their "experiments". But the copycats are just nuisance with rebellious desires.

Theological Discussion before My Dentist

This is a dream two nights ago, when I had paid my dentist Dr. Chiu a visit on Sunday for last teeth checkup (3 total).

In reality, Dr. Chiu had talked to me about how religions (Catholics & Christians) were the same thing. On my previous visit, we talked about the Fa Lun Gong and their misleading propaganda (paid concerts with hidden agenda). I couldn't talk much with her because I needed to keep my mouth open.

The following night, I had a dream about being at Dr. Chiu's place, I think, where she had a guest who talked about religion. And her guest showed me a big wooden cross that appeared to be the center piece of a necklace. The guest said that it belonged to a friend of hers who bought it with great price, had so much commitment in Christianity, but then just died for whatever reason. Why would God allow such person who committed to Him so much to die just like that.

I wasn't able to reply in the dream. When I woke up, it bothered me. I knew it's a simple question but I was troubled that I did not respond.

Of course, now I could think about defining the meaning of death, life and who God really is and who we really are.

On Celebrity Pastors

I don't have problem with celebrity preachers. But I do have problem when the one called upon at the end of the sermon is not God.
