The StrangeFire Conference Outcome

As expected, many Christians who are under charismatic influence are unsettled by this conference hosted by popular megachurch pastor John MacArthur. MacArthur's stand is nothing new, the pentecostal people had hoped that he just kept it in his church. They did not expect this kind of rebuke to go so public, which is the limit of their phony toleration.

However, I do not believe MacArthur is right when he insinuates continuationists giving credence to the Charismatic movement. Maybe some would: The ones who do not wish to criticize the movement. But there are continuationists, I'm sure, that believe miracles and signs are still being performed by the Holy Spirit within the boundary of Scripture, but these are not to be dictated by a movement or church, hence no church can claim they have the Holy Spirit in a special way, which is a grand error the Charismatic movement is making, when they focus on these gifts, signs and wonders.

Over all, as some described it: Harpooning, was what the conference was doing to the movement. Great! We are comforted by God once more with His Glory. Thanks be to God! Now we continue our daily struggle with firm discipline and love of God.

Garageband Workshop at Upper West Side

The New Apple Store is as impressive as the others. However, on my 2nd workshop (Garageband) yesterday, I was disappointed. Because the speaker doesn't really know what he's doing. "Why isn't it opening?"..."Why isn't it...?" were phrases I hear from time to time.

He's tired. So it would appear. He admits it. Thus, a kind of disgruntled attitude. He tried to be nice, I tried to be polite and ignore his "bad day".

Though the time was a bit wasted, I must say his honestly in the end was more helpful than even my first workshop (Keynote) at the same location by a different instructor. He told me I would get better workshops on this subject in SoHo branch. I looked it up later and WOW, SoHo branch has so many more super workshops than others which I thought follow universal schedules. They have every detail types of workshop for Photoshop alone.

On Praises and Reputation

Today, it is scary for people to praise one, especially behind one's back. One's reputation could be ruin, though it may not be forever, because often times those who are praising have bad reputations themselves, often times, unaware to themselves.

The effect of this is so long term that it is hardly noticeable.

The Curse that Comes with the Name: David

A brief study on David's story reminds me of a friend with the same name from a church. The king probably believed he deserved a beautiful woman even though she was married to someone else; this friend once mentioned that he had liked his woman before she had a boyfriend to justify coveting her from the boyfriend.

The IndoctriNation Movie

Scottish Colin Gunn and his Texan family travelled across the country to make a documentary about the danger of Public Schools to Christian children in America. The film is called IndoctriNation.

After watching it, I am confused as to the use of Franklin Graham's clip in the beginning encouraging Christians to make a stand in Public Schools; while the rest of the movie is about urging parents to pull their children out of public schools and take responsibility in educating their children themselves.

They've also met Ken Ham at his Creation Museum.

I've learned about the book "The New England Primer" @ 50:56min, a book in the 18th century for teaching kids their ABCs...using Biblical mnemonics.

In case of my new MacBook Pro, a birthday gift from my wife, the midi-USB cable didn't work until I was reminded of the fact that Midi Out connects to Midi In port, and Midi In connects to the Midi Out port.
