Charismatic vs Charismatic

As the same species of ants from different colonies would rival against each other when gathered together, so it would seem to be the case when Charismatics/pentacostal churches of different locations come to meet.

Mainly, because my "holy spirit" is different than your "holy spirit".

So how are they big? mainly, due to sermons/activities sinners prefer, and also perhaps joined by the recently converted churches from other denominations.

Sad Future in America

It is sad that how so many preachers in America preach not according to the Truth, but according to the heart. And many call that "Holy Spirit".[@more@]

Handel's Messiah

Glory to God! Hallelujah!!!

I have finally seen Messiah live, for the first time.

Eventhough the choir was only 200-member, I was filled with great joy.

Words of God floating pass my mind, my heart filled with awe.

Glory of the Cross?

If you ask someone in the graduate school to take grade 1 math exam, I'm sure how he would feel. This is also how we don't deserve God's grace.

General Teachings

Teachings from the world are profitable, but we must understand that they are originally God's grace and because of our human fallibility after Adam's corruption, these teachings are not really perfect.

Therefore, only through Christ, who is unfallible, can be our way to perfection. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

For a little example, playing chess, can actually help one to realize or measure how good one's mentality is, able to also see that different people have different mentality, able to see how dumb some really are at logical decisions, and more importantly, how smarter others are than oneself.  Therefore one should learn to be humble, not proud. And learn to help others to enlighten their thinking process.

However, chess could be an obsessive bad hobby. And mixing with pride, it could bring down one's life. Such as Wilhelm Steinitz who thought he could beat God in chess. And when one think that chess is life, it will consume one's precious time on Earth.

Aquarium Care

I believe lighting is the most important ingredient. It's more important than temperature, food, etc. Because it effects more than just a few issues.

Fluorescence light is preferable. It emulates sunlight. At least 10 hours a day.

Journal Transfer: 2006/10/04 On Sermons

Entry 07:33PM:

The main problem with most churches today is sermon. The sermons have become irresponsible lectures. Having no relationship with the audience or ignorant of the audience.

Sermon is the most important part in servitude of the Lord. Many have failed here. Hence, the church is scattered, some brought in ingredients of other religions, philosophy and rationalization of man.

It is unfortunate that some think the Bible, the Word of God, is merely a philosophical book. Hence, this brings the question of their faith. Why are they christians? Or rather, why do they CLAIM to be christians?

Most would reply it is because they like Christianity, they like having the fellowship. The smarter ones would add because Jesus saved them but not knowing what that really means except that it was the answer given by many pastors who have mostly acquired such answers from their academical pursue. So in conclusion, they like it, they feel a connection to it, hence they CHOOSE to become a christian, some would say it's more entertaining.

To clarify, I use this analogy: When a person is born to this family, he is loyal and faithful to this family, one would easily argue that if he were to be born to the other family, he would have been loyal and faithful to that family. Because he was born there, he was given food and care, he grew up there.

Nonetheless, in Truth, Christianity is the only path not because one likes it. It is the only path because that is the truth.

Is this important to know? Of course it is. One may think he's a christian, but he might not be. One might not be a christian now, but at the last second, the grace of God could be so effective on him on his deathbed that he repented just before his death when no one was around. The jews thought they were all CHOSEN, but in Romans Chapters 9-11, we know the term CHOSEN is only used by God, not by any natural law or regulation.

It is therefore our duty, to inform others, so that they may come back to the right path.

Journal Transfer: 2006/11/22 On Church Denomination & Devotion

Non-Denominational Church:

====================

Using the spirit of Denomination to refute the idea of Denomination. (Dr. Stephen Tong)

====Devotion===

Never stop having devotion time with God. It's as important as prayer. When you stop devotion, you start to hate yourself, when in contact with others, you transfer that hate to others, making a mess of your life as a witness of Christ.

Book Review: Have We No Right? by Mabel Williamson

I have yet to finish this book, but my favorite chapter thus far is: The Right to Feel Superior. I greatly admire Mabel Williamson's honesty towards racial discrimination. She was not the simple minded sort, or was she the self-fooled hypocritical type. Most others would easily fall into these two categories.

When she was given money as a gift from a fairly wealthy Chinese, that's when the racial/cultural discrimination tried to struggle in her. A great lesson learned.

This is important, as it brought light into many such as myself, to re-evaluate ourselves, characteristics we thought or believed we were not of, but in fact we have been hiding these within ourselves and displaying them in a different form masked by hypocrisy.

Then according to truth, the right to feel superior is not a matter of pride anymore, but a sacrificial matter in a non-hypocritical manner. But how can this be non-hypocritical? If one is made more superior than others in wisdom, faith, strength, health, wealth, etc. How can such person say: "I am not better than you", without being hypocritical about it? It is only when one recognizes such gift is by the grace of the Sovereign God, therefore a greater responsibility and as a result the giving up of such superiority for the Lord, so that God can use this sanctified body for His purpose, for the salvations of others.
