What's Happening Up Til Now

Attic Camera - After I kept seeing the backyard neighbor's constant gatherings on their porch on their second floor balcony, usually for BBQ, with the whole crowd overlooking our backyard, today (Saturday), I've finally moved my attic camera towards the window, so that I can also happily view them back without being creepy. I had tried to be neighborly with them once, but they never opened the door when I knocked on it the first time long ago. I figured, this must be rental tenants. Now I have an incredibly good view overlooking their porch as well as their neighbor's swimming pool. Of course, my camera's goal is to view my backyard...eh...hem.

Browsing and thinking after some Facebook posts from people who are supposed to become great Christian leading figures, but are not. I'm basically talking about people like Alex, Michael, pastors' kids. There's one, probably, David Tong, who's leading a few projects, but I cannot be certain of the motive and position given to him, since he is the son of a great preacher, this one I can only wait...pray...observe. As for the rest, a lot of them, are rather disappointing. Some used to lead youth groups, but of course, they weren't really of reformed influence, so I don't put much hope there anyway. The goal is supposed to be great in Christian living, the light of the world, not being identical with secular or pagan community with the mere label of being called Christian or go serving in church every week. There's no Christian infusion in their lives. Both David and Michael are sort of on the right track, however, David and Michael both deserted their U.S. ministries...I don't know, perhaps until the situations or economics in Indonesia or Taiwan worsen in the future, it's unlikely they'll use their special passes to U.S. I'm imagining they both should have at least green card if not citizenship by now, at least that's what I've heard or observed so far. And if that is the case, I will be wise to stay away. But these two are definitely better the the rest, because they are in some ministries. Despite Michael's own faults, he's been through some, after all, it was people like Rev. Laura Lin who even privately called me to stay away from Rev. Stephen Tong when he was bringing Michael Liu here and there in New York, saying that otherwise, she would not support me or something (as if I needed her Uzzah style support). I'm sure David Tong probably had gone through similar struggle from people who were jealous of him or his people as well.

I need to focus less on the school I'm managing and more on other venture, most likely in the computing field. The hope is to have someone else trustworthy enough to pick this up and I'll even stay for I.T. Nadia's wish to turn it into Pak Tong's institute reminded me that this world is not for me. This is only for the business minded, if it's educational, it's likely secular only. The news of Bill Gates' divorce may intrigue many because this is a very very rich guy, but it's nothing new to me. I never look up to material wealth and shouldn't, and I even despise most of such who pursue it. So let them defend themselves with their money and fame on their divorces and what not, I really don't think they can walk through the needle's hole, much less a camel. The only examples of rich men of God are not like these, not even like most of those in the Charismatic churches (I don't know of any in other denominations, but if so, there's probably no difference either). It's not about how much you give. It's about how much you left remaining for yourself. The sum of a whole life style. For example, they'll have to do a lot more than my time spent pondering about theology, to really convince me otherwise. Otherwise, those donations or whatever giving they put out are no difference than one who doesn't need God - there are great Muslims, Buddhists who are rich and doing likewise. In fact, it would only show that if they align with these other religion ways, that perhaps they weren't Christian to begin with. Getting donations may be a blessings from the Lord, but the givers will be judged in a very different manner by God. The Lord may eventually say "I never knew you." It's like this, a rich so called "Christian" could one day say to the Lord: "Lord, look, I love you, but please excuse me from all these boring stuff with you, just support me and I will do my best to accumulate great profits and share with everyone", I imagine when they are being judged, God will reveal their true heart in such manner, and they will admit that they find God boring at times and desire themselves to have their own time apart from God, from time to time. They feel no remorse for quitting relationship with God for something they could enjoy just for themselves once a while - such as the pursuit of their own wealth, their own happiness, their own whatever.

What's Happening Til Now

Finally visited Mara's Continental Restaurant by Rt. 35. Yesterday 4/30, around 4:30pm. It was Friday specials...meaning the dishes I ordered were only made for Fridays. Charred Octopus for $20, Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass Over Risotto Special $42. I knew it was pricey, I just always wondered how it would taste. Based on the few reviews, I doubted that a high class restaurants would be any good in South Amboy, not to mention running business here. However, the food was indeed excellent. The price is still too high class for me, but the charred Octopus (two good size about 7" each tentacles), with well marinated "skin". Not too hard, not to rubbery (Americans hate that, unlike Chinese). The Seared Chilean Sea Bass was awesome as well. The butter marinate and the texture on the bass were incredible...I tried to identify the ingredients, but that's about it...I think the waiter mentioned white wine was used. But the amount of aroma used was definitely not too much and not too little. I guess to find a fish like that the keyword would be CHILEAN sea bass. I would go back, but only for very special occasion.

Thinking back on certain issue, if I hadn't said it, this is it, that Rev. Lin's ministry is like that of Bill Gothard's: The ministry of Uzzah: 乌撒的事奉. "justifying lies for the ministry", "Apologizing on behalf of all Christians", these are all works of unholy hands trying to make it look like their unholiness is qualified if it is "helping/supporting" God's ministries.

Outlook App in Mac - Turn off Paragraph Formatting Mark symbols & Signatures

So the paragraph symbol thing is controlled in Fonts. You can turn it off in the ribbon menu like in Windows Outlook but it keeps turning back on.

So go to Outlook Preferences > Fonts. And go into every Fonts option to turn off the "HIDDEN" effect.

As for the signatures, in Outlook Preferences, there is a Signatures option.

Hopefully these settings stay for a while, who knows, nowadays these developers love to change layouts constantly, as if they need to prove they are evolving or something.

What's Happening Until Now

Briefly glanced through churches in the neighborhood, particularly PCA, since there really aren't many reformed denominations around. PCA is less likely to be influenced by fundamentalists than OPC. Though we certainly don't want the ReVoice folks like Scott Sauls. Using the PCA directory, I've found 4 churches towards the West:
Good News Church: They are listed as "mission" instead of "church" in the directory, don't know what that means. But I think is a Korean populated church. They meet at The Wilberforce School which is near Princeton. They also have online live stream on Zoom which is in the weekly email you have to get them to email you.
Service is at 10:30am.

Redentor Presbyterian Church: Something's odd about this church. Their website listed their location in UK or Bronx, I don't know which and it seems to be in Portuguese.

2nd Pfizer Vaccine shot

So I got my 2nd vaccination shot 2 days ago on Wednesday (4/21). It is true, though the first shot made me feel like I'm from Krypton as there was only a slight sore on the left arm where the shot was applied, the second shot had the same effect and more. I didn't feel much the first day, but on the second day (Yesterday) I did feel "Almost" feverish and felt some light ghost sores all over, left chest close to the heart, in the head, sometimes in both arms and thighs, etc. They are so light I do wonder if they are related to the vaccination or if it's just a coincidence form bad sleeping postures which occur to me often or gas in the body or something else completely. Of course, if I were to guess, I would say it's Pfizer, because of the statistics of 2nd shot effects on others.

What's Happening until Now

The America First caucus - is what many so called Far-Right, conservative, Republicans are trying to form/join. It's for upholding the white Anglo-Saxon tradition in America and putting heavy restrictions on immigrations. This reminds me of Malaysia's Hak Keistimewaan for orang Melayu. I sure am curious how this will play out should they win. But even former House Speaker John Boehner (Republican) criticized against it. I wouldn't be surprised many of the ones I have come to know in America as Christians would support it. Of course, I'm not talking about U.S. immigrants. At this point, America's diversity is strong enough to deflect this kind of idea, even though I welcome them to form it, because I'm sure they won't get much support, as long as the people are smart enough to see where it is leading. These people I'm referring to are obviously not the minority of nonchalant low IQ type who wouldn't even know when they are being criticized.

Derek Chauvin's verdict: guilty on 3 counts. I could only base my opinion from experts like Ben Shapiro. I'm not going to study this myself. It sounds to me that Chauvin's verdict is ridiculous in that at most, he's guilty only on one count: 2nd degree manslaughter. 2nd degree murder (non-premeditated intent to murder) is debatable, but 3rd degree murder (depraved-heart murder), which is not used in most states, shouldn't be on the docket as Shapiro puts it. It's the kind of charge against someone who intent to cause harm but there's no specific target. So while there's no looting, I think the BLM celebrations are still a sign of showing off of BLM or post-modernist superiority and dictatorship. They ran the street yesterday on 34th street as I was going home from work, though appear to be harmless. I love Greg Gutfeld's (of Fox News) remark: That he was happy that the trial found Chauvin guilty on all 3 charges, EVEN IF he wasn't guilty on all 3. It's witty and gutsy. I had to read the articles carefully just to be sure I was on the same page as him, because very few people would be smart and brave enough to come up with this kind of sarcasm. Most liberals would jump on "YES" at the first part of his statement, but after listening to his 2nd part, they all suddenly cringed...HaHaHa! Why? Because if they agree completely, that means they would have to admit the unspoken truth Gutfeld was delivering: That the court is a circus. The Jury may very well be intimidated by the threat of looting and therefore be responsible for the country going up in flames. The court does not look at the evidence, making rash decision like this in matter of a few weeks. Even Ben Shapiro could predict the outcome seeing such quick conclusion for the verdict.

On the side note, Derek's tax evasion and complaints of his aggressions have also been dug up. His wife filed for divorce just after the murder. Interestingly, his wife is of Asian descent, Hmong people, from Laos. My quick summary is that Kellie Chauvin's bio tells me that she's likely just looking for better life herself, if there's nothing fishy behind their divorce. However, I wouldn't dismiss possible hardship she has struggled in her life, I had hoped that she would stay in the marriage to support her husband. But then of course, I don't know the Chauvins, how's Derek's character.

The victims of racism think the result of this case gave them comfort somehow. However, I think they are greatly erred. Yes, racism exists, but this may be far from it. If they want to see justice against racism, maybe try moving to Utah or any white people populated area and see how the challenge will be. Now I better not cross a line here, for I would be committing the sin of Balaam. The fine line between love for the children of God and pleasure for wickedness must be drawn here. This is a caution, that perhaps the worst has yet to come. There may be a great civil battle coming in USA.

I noticed that the region of China along Northern India (Mainly North-Eastern along the Brahmaputra river), Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan & Tajikistan, must have some very good weather areas that are not too hot or not too cold year round. These would be around the valleys surrounding the Himalayans. Because the mountains are always super cold, but when descending to the foot, the temperature would have to drop to the tropical zone, so somewhere in between must be like paradise. Oh well, I'll leave this as a question for my future self to explore further.

What happens when children of great men cannot live up to their fathers' standards or fame? They sell their fathers' books to survive.

I noticed a lot of new generation (around my generation and younger) preachers/preacher-denier-wannabe (such as Alex) are only good at disseminating information rather than coming up with real original work of their own. Praising others rather than doing a project of their own. They would probably call it...humility or standing on the shoulders of giants.

Sermon - Stephen Tong Sunday Service 04/18/2021 Rev 2:18-29

Votum: Yohanes 10:11a, 27-28a

Hymn #1: Kristuslah Batu Penjuru (Christ is Made Sure Foundation) by Joachim Neander, Latin Hymn 9th C.

Hymn #2: 'Ku Bertemu Yesus Sobatku (Saved! Saved!) by Jack P. Scholfield

Pembacaan Alkitab: Yohanes 10:11-16

Hymn #3: Pakailah Waktumu (Take Time to Be Holy) by William D. Longstaff, George C. Stebbins

4th Church, Thyatira, the longest message. Of 7 churches, 5 received warning: Repent.

Unlike today's church leaders/servants, who compromise with today's politics, Elijah did not.

Like Elijah running away from Jezebel, many pastors after achieving success, fall.

Many churches in America are closing due to false teaching, chasing after liberalism.

Liberal churches never really bear any fruits. Like harlots who become barren due to too many sexual malpractices.

American Presbyterian churches in this past 100 years, have lost 2 million members due to the church's pursuit of liberalism.

Hymn #4: Tuntun Aku, Tuhan Allah (Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah) by William Williams, John Huges.
