Old Pal

Had a strange dream. Old friend Meng Koay Lim came to stay at my place, reluctantly.

I was married to Nadia by then. The house looks like the one I stayed at St. James.

He was very quiet...sensing somewhat a hesitance in him to want to talk to me while I was providing him all the hospitality I could.

I wonder what happens to him in real life.

Empire State Building Shooting

At 34th Street yesterday:

Lone shooter killed his employer, I heard, on broad daylight, 34th Street, in front of Empire State building.

Surveillance Video of the police involved shooting on August 24, 2012, in the confines of the Midtown South Precinct

I saved a copy of the video before too late, since youtube is known to remove certain contents without warning.

I do not have much details, but perhaps this is the aftermath of the Colorado shooting incident. Yes, NYC is very strict in gun control (since even a Navy Seal was arrested for carrying a gun into the city and put into mental institute when he tried to explain his right to the NYPD). And I admire the city for such control. However, since the whole country is having diverged opinions on this, unlike Indonesia or Malaysia, anyone from other states carrying a weapon entering this city need not go through any sort of inspections.

As for the light of the world, churches and fellowships need to really care about what they are doing and not just a committive matter or routine or practice. One reason I do not join CCCNY's retreat is because I do not think they care about it...so why should I join something nobody cares about.

Nurturing the Youth in Spirit

Even if it is in church, the teacher must always give the youth the chance of receiving the Gospel.

What I mean by that, is that a lot of churches treat their youth members as automacially saved. Not because their parents are Christians or that they've been in the church long enough to be "Christians". But because perhaps it is a hard thing to inquire the hearts of the youth in regards to their salvation, for it could get "a little" intimate.

But isn't that the purpose of Christian fellowship? Intimate fellowship in love and in truth before our Lord.

Of course, this is not to say we treat all youth as unbelievers.

Offering a chance, an opportunity in our teaching, for even the oldest member youth or the most mature youth in Sunday school, to receiving the Gospel, yet not condescending their intellect, spiritual well-being.

That is definitely better than not offering this chance at all and assuming all of them are godly Christians.

Forex Currency Trading

To help giving me a good idea of a profit...I programmed a simple console program to show me a general increment of profit and final value on a weekly basis.

It is interesting, that if I maintained a 20% profit weekly with a 500USD bid, I could make 6 million in a year. But, then again, 20% may not be as easy as I think.

I have put in 500USD last week, buying EUR/USD and selling CAD/JPY...EUR/USD had realized $25 profit. Unrealized P/L has gone up and down from $25 to $49.

I think selling CAD/JPY while buying AUD/JPY is a mistake. I need to do more analysis on this. Now the very profiting Canadian pair is paying for my Australian pair.

So I'm only up 5% in a week.

I figure, 10% is more constant for me. One year projection value would be 71k. However, 5% gain would yield only 6k. But that is good enough, as FX trading is my small pet project.

Soon, I would program more complex calculations.

Quick tips on Strategy Pattern.

CCCNY Retreat 2012

Be it command or by volunteer, (unfortunately the pastor is very unclear about this, as it was perhaps the way she wants it), I have fulfilled both. And am valid to claim I do not go to CCCNY retreats, in general.

I have not conflicted myself, for I have obeyed, if it was commanded; and if it was by volunteer, I've done it out of grace.

What I would deny is fellowship. For there is no fellowship between men and dogs.

If it is by volunteer, surely, I have full right to choose and not be held against any code of conduct.

Fellowship with Right Christians

If there is defense, why speak not?

If there is no defense, why believe?

There is little or zero need to fellowship with those who have no care for apologetics. 1 Peter 3:15.

You Are Not God

Saying you are not God, or you are not my father, in reaction to denial of certain instruction from a regular human being, is a prove of rebellion.

Yes, the validity of the statement is undeniably true. However, it is from the terminology used, that a judgment against the person is valid.

If one had responded...why would you want me to do this or that? How is it so? etc. One could have been seeking after the truth earnestly.

If however, one challenges the authority by exclaiming the obvious truth, that the object is neither God nor one's father, one is logically concluding that one's father or even God, has the right to order unreasonably. Ergo, one is saying that God or one's father is unreasonable!

So psychologically,  it can be concluded, that such one has no respect for one's father and even God. The veil has become transparent.

Of course, this argument is has interest only in the speaker of the statement "You are not God", and is not sufficient to judge or be accused of representing the other parties involved.

All Christians are to defend faith

1Pe 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

Being Christian

One does not become a Christian by knowing how to be a Christian; But by believing what one does is according to Christ's teaching, not according to a sinner's way.

Perpetual Machine: Robert Boyle's Flask

Could it have worked? I do not know. Though it would never be permanent, because gaseous liquids do not retain their gasses.

However, it could be an interesting way of "purifying" soda drinks from their gasses.
