I identify those within the church who seek after the Kingdom of God truly.
If some welcome not one of these, they do not welcome me, despite their enthusiasm toward me and however like-minded they claim themselves to be.
From facebook posting, I came across an article of a young widow commenting how she missed little things she had with her husband: quarrel, dirty socks everywhere, etc.
The easy response: There are more than 2 people in the whole world. Marriage is not a means to an end, it is a means to enjoy God.
Should it be obtained, it is nothing to be proud or congratulated about...One's merely following the law.
Do we say to someone paying taxes: Congratulations?
In Norway, one gets this hotel for 21 years for murder. Even my fantasy monastery doesn't look this good.

One asks..."Why" are you a Christian?
I sometimes answer tricky questions with tricky answers.
Why are you a Christian...because it is the only true path.

To date, there's only two times when I spoke to Rev. Stephen Tong in person.
The other times, were when I was merely a student in his class.
This time, at the Elmhurst Church, he recognized me, so I was asked by him in the middle of his speech..."What is servitude?" To which I paraphrased 1Corinthians 10:31. It was the answer I got from his class years ago.
Sure enough, Rev. Tong encouraged everyone in New York City to stand up in this sin city. Do not be like the charismatics.
I am considering going to the Westchester meet the following day, if I finish all my chores.
As he showed us slides of his church in Indonesia and their local rallies, I was reminded of how one would easily have said "What a show-off". My reply to these would be of 2 parts: 1. How has Satan blinded you that you cannot praise God for all these works. 2. Have you filled your heart with so much jealousy that you cannot consider the possibility that one can boast of God's works in one's life and not his own works? How is it pride for showing God's grand church and how is it humility for saying God's blessing one's gambling in stock market?

Considering yesterday's sermon at Redeemer, by Tim Keller:
Naman's way of living after conversion "2 Kings 5:2-3; 15-27".
Keller called it a good example. I must respond, then why would Naman ask for forgiveness for going to the temple of Rimmon? (v. 18).
The two extremes are perfectly understandable and agreeable: not to be scoffing fanatic nor selfishly antisocial, but they do not justify cowardice.
Either I was asleep or Keller forgot to expound on that particular verse which was the act of many teachers who wish to carry out their own points through scriptural support.
