Passive Evil

Recently, I've been hearing much of John MacArthur's Podcasts on submission to civil authority.

I agree.

But somehow, MacArthur sounded to me as if one should not actively voice against such things (as if it's protesting) in public (including among non-believers). If that is so, then I would have a question mark on it.

And now I came across a great statement by one of John Piper's mentor, Paul Jewett:

"he who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."

Of Course, John Calvin already had a similar statement about the so called "neutral" or third party.

I myself abhor such party more than either of the opposing two parties, unless the reason for not having a side is due to lack of knowledge and keeping a shut mouth. Otherwise, the more they feel they are the best group, the worst kind of the 3 they really are.

On the side note, in that same article, I, as always, have a profound love for John Piper's mother's character. Those who stood for others against all odds for selfless reasons.

Herbig–Haro object

When a new star's ejected gas collides with nearby gasses, patches of clouds formed, this are called the HH objects. And a video over 14 years has been made to animate the event into motion pictures.

Never shy away from people's recommendations

At least not at first. It is not just about following or finding out their recommendations, but chiefly to learn about them, the recommenders themselves, their personalities, their characters, in a way they cannot hide from us.

Scott Sauls

No wonder I sensed Redeemer Senior pastor Scott Sauls' evangelical approach a problem. He's from Riverside Church, which is much affected by social gospel movement. And so do many traditional churches in America today. I think it's an excuse to eliminate the need to preach to strangers, or simply put, the Great Commission.

Perhaps I wasn't the only one. Based on a news about how pastor Scott was decommissioned from the future new church. (Or it could be that the committee decided to have just 1 senior pastor instead of 2 for the new church.)

Though I do agree with Tim Keller, that if one is commissioned, it is not right to decommission one especially when the whole thing hasn't even started yet.

If Sauls decided to strive through this, my respect for him shall grow. I do hope so.

Dream of an old friend

Well not that old. He's John Chen from CCGCLI.

In my dream, I was supposedly killed. My "ghost" was the point of view.

I roamed around the living. And apparently I have either learned to appear at certain individuals at will or only John could see me. I've also learned to touch and hold objects like in the show "Ghost".

It was as if John wasn't shock about it when he saw me. But he was ignoring me. I thought for a moment and decided to bother him so that he could finally confront me and stop ignoring me, which he finally did after my 'hard work'. I don't remember much detail except that he was annoyed to a point he had to talk to me instead of just turning away.

Things between us were settled (also don't remember much detail here). And he was nice enough to give me a hint to my killer's identity because somehow, I couldn't read newspapers, I think. So it was as if John knew of my inability and was just quoting newspapers. I had to die to get things reconciled?

And I woke up before I could find the killer, I think.

Adoption...Why Americans Love to adopt Chinese so much

I've always been skeptical of this, the 'rich' West adopting the 'poor' East children. Thinking that it's more about pride, heroism, pre-made baby concept, too much time, too much money, etc. than true love. I questioned because when I began to wonder 'what if certain challenges come, they are not going to be able to face it".

If I were they, I would first make sure my Chinese adopted daugther learn Chinese, her mother tongue. If I wanted a Western culture, I would have adopted a Western orphan.

So when this news come,  shocking some hinting that they may have adopted an abducted child sold on trafficing market, while they thought they were 'helping' some poor abandoned child.

I would just say, the much better, if one truly cares about contributing to a social order and love of children, it is better to found an orphanage than to just adopt some cute baby of one's own choice.

In North America, 15Amps = 120volts x 15A = 1800 Watts

I can't believe I hooked up 15 x 160w computers at NYGC to a 15 Ampere circuit.

That's at least 2400watts on a 1800watt limit circuit. And I was wondering about all the circuit breakdown and resetting the power breaker at the fusebox all the time (roughly 7-8 times total already).

Two TOEFL tests have passed this crazy madness of my doing before I realized this.
