Defining "American"

When we say "American" among the Chinese communities regardless of nationality, we usually mean the "caucasian american".

Of course, technically, it refers to those who permanently reside in America, legally, to be more precise.

I didn't realize this double standard can be confusing to some, especially the Chinese. But unfortunately, there are those who are too simple minded than I had hoped them not to be. These only listen but their minds process not the information, they never ask questions, they vainly follow the flow of cultures.

Secret of the Lord, God's own Heart

Psalms 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Psalms 25:14  耶和华与敬畏他的人亲密;他必将自己的约指示他们。

Hypocrisy of American Christians

It is amazing, that these Christians when choosing their spouses/mates, their parents, they themselves, are so picky; but when it comes to choosing co-workers of God into His Holy services, they do it without much concern. The hypocrisy being covering it with the excuse of Love.

Is it really Love?  Are the things of family more important than the things of God?

Would I espouse myself with one of these hypocrites? Christians are those of us who admitted that we are sinners and willing to make changes in our lives and commit ourselves to God, that we leave the hypocritical paths and follow the true path of God.

On Christian Mothers

There are 2 categories of Christian Mothers:

1. Those who wish their children to get A's in schools, get high paying jobs, become famous. Thus, prayers mostly in these. Such as the mother of Zebedee's sons.

2. Those who wish their children to be the benefit of others, even if it costs them their lives for the Lord. Such as the mother of St. Augustine.

Both could pray in tears, but with different motives.

China's Billy Graham?

I just read an article from the Daily Bread dated May 3rd 2008.

It's an article on John Sung. What is interesting is that many called John Sung the Billy Graham of China. I think it's funny because John Sung predates Billy Graham. It should have been "Billy Graham, John Sung of America".

Nonetheless, Our Daily Bread is one of my main source of evangelism, for now.

The Laws of God

There are three laws of God, creator of all:

1. The one that is written in Nature

2. The one that is given to the Angels

3. The one that is written in the hearts of men and instructed through the scriptures of God.

These laws cannot be corrupted, nor be contradicting to each other, they are interrelated. These three laws give harmony and balance in the universe and exhibit the glory of God.

Vocabulary: Solecism 语病

When we make grammatical errors, even if we are sincere, it is not excused. This 语病, as the Chinese calls it, in linguistics, particularly in prescriptive linguistics (proper use of language to deliver the best result of understanding), is called Solecism.

Billy Graham's Theology

It is interesting if one examines Billy Graham's history of serving the Lord. His victorious battles for the Lord as well as his failure...

I wish to study this further...into the Question category:

What would make Billy Graham draw a grey line on the doctrine of christology and soteriology? Someone who has, in his earlier years, proclaimed the Gospel so fervently. What Kairos may have sparked this change in his testimony?

Who Should Support Me

Who should Support Me?

First of all, it is God who calls, not men, to the ministry of God.

Many have wanted to support me as if I am already called by God to his ministry.

There was a pastor who wanted to sponsor me, I told her, the American Christianity is failing far worse than other countries, that she should take a look in the mirror. How can a poor said to another poor, here, I support you, as if she herself doesn't need the support. She should further her Bible study, in apologetics, in Church History and theology. In fact, many degree holding preachers in the United States should spend more time studying the Bible and less time evangelizing. So they wouldn't allow the heretic notion of co-serving the Lord with non-christians, etc.

If I hear something like this from such christians again, I will say: No, get behind me, because my calling is not yours. You want to dethrone Christ in order to make peace with everyone else. I, on the other hand, want to proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ to all. If you see the throne of Christ through my ministry, then we'll talk about your offering to God and support.
