On Rob Bell

One can get much information from John MacArthur's comments on this fellow. But even the friendliest reformed pastor that I ever know, John Piper, tweeted on the univeralist's migration from Michigan to L.A.: Farewell, Rob Bell. You I tell, there is a Hell.

A Child is Born

My father forwarded an email of photographer Lennart Nilsson, on the birth process of a child in the womb. A 'painstaking' procedure...the photographs.

I looked him up and got his main page.

This is rare, since incredible efforts are put into obtaining such delicate process of the human body.

The use of electron microscope is very impressive.

iPhone 3G GPS system causes slow usage, very slow

Solution thanks to Dave Lenef.

As I have learned, this is caused by firmware malfunction, particularly during the OS upgrade. From version 3 to 4.2.

Solution is simple, though may take long time to complete depending on user's data.

1. Do a normal sync first and then Restore iphone again with itunes.

2. Choose backup to regain data after restoration, instead of choosing NEW settings.

3. Normal synchronization and most data and apps should be back. All seems to be back on mine with some past apps I deleted.

Long time Unknown device wizard popup during startup solved

On my Fujitsu P1510 tablet notebook, there's this annoying pop up saying unknown hardware found. In device manager, there's no special indication. I had to look under 'System Devices' to find a 'unknown' device. In its property it says the location is on Intel(R) 82801FBM LPC Interface......

This problem did not come originally with the laptop so I would assume either some virus or software un/installation had caused it.

Delete it and it will come back after hardware scan.

Thanks to James Norman, I have stopped it from happening. But I cannot be sure of any side-effect, because I now see two identical devices listed under System Devices in Device Manager as "Intel(R) 82801FBM LPC Interface Controller - 2641".

Here's the solution:

1. Right click on the device, and goto Properties.
2. Goto the Driver tab, and click on Update Driver.
3. Click on the "Browse my computer for driver software" option, then let me pick from a list of device drivers.
4. Click on the show all devices option, and then select Intel from the Manufacturer side.
5. In the right hand side (Model) scroll down until you find your Model,
in my case it was Intel(R) 82801FBM LPC Interface Controller -
2641.(Note the (R) on Intel.

Chinese Toddler died after two hit and run and multiple ignorant passers

While many angry responses targeted towards the ignorance of humanity, I wondered about the law of man...which is a prove of human flaw because despite the 'soul search' on the street passengers, only the two drivers were listed as guilty by law, and this is the common sense of man, which is wrong. The others were as guilty. But in a world that counts not inaction as action, fools are in constant supply.

If we are
so civil aware of such "big" incident but we cannot bring ourselves to
involve in "small" things like picking up litters dropped by others in
front of us. Does it start from big to small, or vice versa?

On Attitude of Christian Fellowship

In regards to priesthood of man, I dare not speak in other terms lest I commit blasphemy, the attractiveness of a Christian is drawn by the fear of God he/she instills in others.

When people love this Christian, do they fear God and give more reverence toward God?

Do people come near this Christian because they know this person is so connected to God that if he/she receives them, they are assured of their peace with God.

Hence, the attractiveness of a Christian is not due to the 'niceness' or E.Q. or  social skill. Because when one brings the reverence of God with him/her, he/she automatically has all of the above.

No deal with Reliable Printing 1-888-241-6899

This company calls us just out of the blue, promoting their inks and catridges.

I allowed them to send 2 boxes of solid inks for one of our printer. Package came, no papers no invoices.

A few weeks later, they called to send more and supposedly we've paid (which I think maybe true, since I was given check #: 1060, which I've yet to verify with accounting).

I said never again will I deal with them. The sales (Max) hung up on me. I called back to make sure they are not going to send any more, which he previously claimed to be part of some invisible 'contract', he uncomfortably complied.

This way of doing business is analogous to mafia. The other one being Ricoh though with less attitude problem. I'm sure these aren't the only two and more can be found of this sort (sales ethic).

The Paracletos & Periclytos controversy

In John 14:16, the Greek word for "The Comforter" was Paracletos (or parakletos).

The Muslim used this verse to prove the prophecy of their prophet Muhammad by twisting the term Paracletos as Periclytos, which means "praised one" or Ahmad in Arabic. Hence, Muhammad.

It should be a no brainer that the Islamic claim of corruption in Christian Greek text instead of theirs is ridiculous.

Church Volunteer

"All church works are voluntary", says my Rev. Lin. She's finally said it. Though I disagree, but it is something I have been waiting for her to say.

Now, I have good reason to forbid myself from attending the retreat the following years. And I will not go for sure. Unless, they got the quality side, such as inviting Paul Washer, etc. But I doubt they would...impress me.

On the other hand, there's talk of asking me to do some promotion for church annual magazine. When I said, I am willing to do the technical part, just not the human-to-human interaction part, the pastor said it is for the purpose of the interaction that they want me to do it. For this impure motive, I will have to refuse. My God would not allow it.

As for the social issue, I supposed, even the pastor, unfortunately, failed to understand the concept of quality, church discipline. Just like her mentor Bill Gothard, she cannot rely on scripture for God to work His miracle; everything is about tricky persuasion and cunning motives and cover ups because the ends, according to these, can always justify the cause. Good thing she doesn't view homosexuality as the rest of the RCA churches. Let's hope it can stay that way.

This is sad. Well, if the prophets could bare with the Israelites, I'm sure I can bare with these, with God's grace.
