Ways to Change Power Scheme and others on Guest Account (XP)

Doing a Sunday School Projector project at CCCNY, I stumbled upon this problem.

Solution:

Use the command powercfg.exe.

Two other solutions found on the web:

1. Gemarti:

I never actually tried this, but it should work:
Elevate the guest account to administrator. Log on as guest. Make the power option changes and then demote the guest account back to its original state. Just make sure you note what user group Guest was originally in. I have the guest account disabled on my machines, so I don't remember what group it is originally in.

You should be able to promote and demote the guest account  logged on as administrator user the lusrmgr.msc snap-in:

START | RUN | LUSRMGR.MSC

2. Dabzov:

Thank you.

I used a different
path, but you led me to the solution. Note -  Priviledges for user in
more than one group defaults to group with lowest priviledges.

While logged on a s Administrator:

  |start|settings|control panel|administrative tools|computer management|Local users and groups|groups

1. click on "guest" and remove userGuest form  groupGuests (apply/OK)

2. Click on "Administrators" and add userGuest to groupAdministrators (apply / OK)

3. Log off Administrator (to save settings)

4. Log onto Guest

5. |Start|Settings|control panel|power options|

6. Change Power Settings|apply|OK|

7. Log off Guest

8. Log onto administrator

9.|start|settings|control panel|administrative tools|computer management|Local users and groups|groups

10. remove userGuest from groupAdministrators

11. Add userGuest to groupGuests

12. log off Administrator

Sorry for the detail, but I will be directing others to this chain of entries.

thnaks again

Vulnerable In Love

When you're in love with somebody, you're always vulnerable.

The harder and more lonely

A recent conversation with my mother convinced me how hard it is, in the world today for one to serve God and the balance one needs to face. Not easy indeed, when Paul mentioned false brethren and all the obstacles of the Gospel, while maintaining all virtues of Christ in love and care.

I recently emailed a former pastor who was responsible for causing another pastor's sack but denied such. Paul's note on praying for certain of those to be left with Satan, so that in flesh, they may still have the opportunity to learn and turn back from Satan's torment. It is easily interpret as a cause of hate. But when viewing in terms of love, it is amazing.

Thus I have emailed this former pastor telling her that whenever she's in New York City, she's still welcomed by me. Though of course, I will not compromise anything and keep my anger in check.

After the breakthrough, all worldly debts all cleared, all worldly honor paid, and let the dead burry the dead.

Japan Tsunami

Watching the videos of the recent Japanese tsunami reminded me of Noah's time. I have been troubled by the fact of how could people die so easily in floods like these. But watching these videos, I could see how one can easily be killed by the junks carried by the speedy waves...then again, how would Noah's wooden ark withstand this kind of shock? material? structure? or location?

The Church of Christ Church

Met one of their evangelist, Helios, on SL (Second Life) a virtual internet environment. He recommended his New York fellow, Keith Canton at 10th Street. Part of the Church of Christ denomination, eventhough he's very against using "denomination".

They are those extremists but more mellow in reaching out kind of people. They probably don't shout or curse at non-believers or picking people out to challenge them. Extreme because they ultimately want certain doctrines such as baptism by immersion (form of baptism), etc. that they believe to be the same in order to be considered saved, or truly following God. I asked him any well known preachers they would identify with to invite to preach, he told me he couldn't think of one. At the same time he tried to show he's very open.

Of course, it is a matter of interpretation of the scriptures which would be time consuming if I had to go over those area with him. So I just asked him questions instead of debating on any particular subjects.

My own research points me to this group: Church of Christ. I think Helios mentioned Thomas Campbell as some major player but he also tried to emphasis they don't really have or follow any founder or someone of any significant other than Jesus Christ. A disturbing part in wikipedia is that they are those New Testament orientation believers, a major part Helios left out.

Leonard Ravenhill

Supposedly inspired people like Paul Washer, David Wilkerson, Ravi Zacharias and Bill Gothard (arranged from my most favorite to least). Here are Leonard Ravenhill's quotes:

"Today’s church wants to be raptured from responsibility."

"If weak in prayer, we are weak everywhere."

"Men give advice; God gives guidance."

"Are the things you are living for worth Christ dying for?"

"A sinning man stops praying, a praying man stops sinning"

"The only reason we don't have revival is because we are willing to live without it!"

"God pity us that after years of writing, using mountains of paper
and rivers of ink, exhausting flashy terminology about the biggest
revival meetings in history, we are still faced with gross corruption in
every nation, as well as with the most prayerless church age since
Pentecost."

"The Church used to be a lifeboat rescuing the perishing. Now she is a cruise ship recruiting the promising."

"The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity."

"My main ambition in life is to be on the devil's most wanted list."

"If Jesus had preached the same message that ministers preach today, He would never have been crucified."

"Entertainment is the devil's substitute for joy"

Utah vs Arizona on Immigration Law

While Arizona passed bill to allow racial profiling, Utah has its counter last Friday to allow illegal immigrants obtain work permit, but it would need some kind of federal waver to escape breaking the "knowingly hiring illegal immigrants" law.

Obviously, it's very dramatic. And just as I had predicted. Well, actually, I predicted civil war and segregation, but I supposed that history is learned.

Preaching/Teaching to the elderly

This has always been a struggle for me.

Some older folks could only take in very simple message, due to their background (not academically challenged), but I doubt it ever has anything to do with their senility.

If I could get to a 張媽媽 (Seems like older ladies with children are titled "mama" in the Chinese churches, especially here in America, possibly of Taiwanese influence), then I think it will be a breakthrough.
