Visual Studio: Code changes sometimes don't take effect

Solution (Thanks to tuxedo25 )

It sometimes happens that some files "are being used by another process".

Close your solution and delete all "bin" and "obj" subfolders of all your projects that are included in the solution.

Then open your solution again, execute "Clean solution" and build it again.

=====

My own solution: If the above has failed, sometimes, it seems that the compiler is storing some cache in the cloud or something. So, by disabling the network adapter and trying to compile again has proven quite effective so far. But it may still be just a slight coincident as I notice it failed a couple times sometimes.

Theological thought of the day: Praising God via Social Media

Looking back at people of the churches that I know, now that I finally have some time to sit down and ponder, God's sovereignty is clear.

It is not how well you can preach and they welcome your message, in the end, the congregants or friends will not be able to choose God, had God not made it available to them. They would act like they love God, if not reject God, but when the veil is off and critical examination is called upon, the god they actually serve is themselves. They are happy because they are being served well, by nature, by the worldly treasures given them. God's blessings indeed.

The problem is not the inability to recognize what is God's blessings. For they do. The real problem is the inability to take the due diligence to meditate and observe and compare, to understand how they are blessed and how they have more than others. If they do, their appreciation of God would not be a mere facebook postings of "How I am blessed by God" or a quote from Jeremiah 29:11. In fact, there probably really is no need to write such postings?

Am I jealous? It may seem so, but I looked at some of these and realized that I am currently more blessed than some of them, by their standards, yet I am not posting such things. In fact, I see a need to rejoice in trembling and serve the Lord with fear. That I am not God.

Why do they? I guess, when one is delusional enough to call serving one's own desire = serving God, calling self indulgence = blessings of God, they are addicted to seek after more and more such dopamine triggers in their lives, be it from their children, their "tribes", their need to show off and have others validate their status of enjoyment through social media. If they call their indulgence God's blessings and others liked it, then they supposed that they do not need to take the due diligence to stop and wonder, if they are actually worshiping themselves or truly praising God.

So the way I see it, if they post these stuff on social media, in such manner instead of the other, they know deep down the vanity that they pursue, but since they do not wish to turn back, for they have become addict, they have convinced themselves that if they could find validation of men, particularly Godly men, supposedly, brothers and sisters in Christ, especially, despite the fact that there are just so many confused Christians around them, then, maybe then, very likely so, their actions are vindicated, if not by God, at least by themselves and the people who clicked on the likes.

What then? Not wanting to brag or seek validation is not the primary reason I don't post these things, personal things. The primary reason is, I just don't trust these social medias to be committed to store my photos and videos or even precious words on the cloud for lasting time. I am already busy trying to organize my albums with my own backups and clouds, I do not want to do the same on these social medias.

Fell off from scooter

Last Saturday, after buying some sweet corns (mmm...they are sweet indeed) from the farm near our house, Willy (that chicken) decided to go take the inner neighborhood route home instead of the shorter, better, bigger Brodentown Ave road.

So in one of the neighborhood corner turn, my E-scooter ran into a pile of inconspicuous sand and my body's moving faster than the scooter. So after tumbling onto the street forward, I had both my hands supporting my body in a push up position. My left hand recovered very shortly, but contusion formed on my right palm for a couple of days. It still hurting a bit on my wrist. Hopeful for recovery within a week or two.

Lesson: Watch every inch of road while riding scooter. And possible stay away from doing much sports with Willy. Last one's a joke or maybe not. Need to be more alert next time.

That night, I fixed my scooter with a DIY back wheel aluminum fender. Bought the aluminum sheet from HomeDepot, then just cut it down.

Fending off Eastern Lighting Christian Cults on FaceBook

So I finally found a way to make a statement...in the form of a question, to fend off the annoying friend request from Chinese 全能神 (东方闪电)cults. They appear to be all living in Italy, for reason unknown to me. And they are mostly women.

This is what I posted: 谁知道哪里有对异端全能神现代的详细评论?他们的创办人与所谓的女基督” 杨向彬 现在仿佛无影无踪。本以为能向 Lois Chan 求教,哪知道一问就被她当我是异端被封锁了。可在此或私下答复。

And these are the ones who unfriended & blocked me within a week or so:

Fun! I had initially hoped to evangelize to them, but after a while, it's better to just get straight to the point rather than wasting my time with the fools.

Microsoft Word Javascript Add-in API

Learning this in order to replace the old 32 bit VBA macro template add-in for my company's letterheard wizard.

Now I learn that the JS API doesn't import contents from a local file, but it could read from OoXML, which is what MS Office uses now (ie. dotx, docx, etc.) in the form of a zip (you can basically rename the file extension from docx to zip and you can find a packaged XML files. This is why the old Office 2003 doc, xls, etc. types are out of fashion today.

In order to learn about OOXML handling with the JS API, refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/word/create-better-add-ins-for-word-with-office-open-xml

Then it's good to know about the insertInlinePictureFromBase64 method. One can easily convert an image file to base64 online, and paste that base64 code into the parameter.

Abbott and Costello

Some of my older friends who grew up in the states like this comedy duo, I thought I could follow, but I just don't get how their jokes are #1 funny. Sure, they are cleaner than today's comedians, but once I get the point, they just keep on and on about it. "Who's on First" drags for more than 5 minutes unnecessarily.

Either someone show me a good film that they made or I just don't have time to browse through all their works.

The only thing I know I can learn from this is the lingo used back then.

Car Accident

So I think I had what is the first car crash in my life.

Last Saturday, as I was about to park by the South Amboy boat unloading dock, my CRV suddenly launched into the wall about 3-5 feet in front.

Yes, I remember stepping on the gas.

No, I don't remember what was going through my head. Not exactly. Perhaps I was thinking I was stepping on the clutch? Or that I thought I was stepping on the reverse (I may have thought that I was too close to the car parked on the left and thus wishing to readjust my vehicle)? Or that the uneven parking lot that I was driving through just dragged the car so much that I stepped on the gas to make the car move and I was forced to feed immense gas into the engine to overcome it, not realizing that once the car escaped the sandy ground, it gained so much friction on the grassy land in addition to increased gas input, that there's no time to stop the car from hitting the wall.

From a brief look, I couldn't find any serious internal damage. Mostly cosmetic in the front. Good front bumper. The front grill looked crooked a bit, I could push and click it most of the parts back into place, sort of. And the only serious one was the damaged driver's seat airbag. It's off. Its warning light came on. The driver's seat belt cover was knocked open. The seat belt was loose, but the next day it worked again springing back tightly, I don't know how, but when I was examining it, something clicked inside and it started rolling back.

My wife will bring the car to her only favorite mechanics in Flushing.

This experience has taught me humility, in addition to be more "present" minded. I had always thought myself as a uniquely qualified driver who has never had any accident.

Also, perhaps the Lord has other purpose, like preventing me to go to boating and go home early to eat dinner with Nana.

Mild Hypokinesis (Hypokinesia)

After my echo (Echocardiogram), the result was mild Hypokinesis on my left Ventricle. And this is my research thus far:

Question

Asked by Worried Mom

What Is Mild Generalized Left Ventricular Hypokinesia?

I had an Echo Doppler Panel done recently and the report impression was "mild generalized left ventricular hypokinesia." What does that mean?

Answer

Enchocardiography, or Echo for short, is a test that looks at how well your heart functions.   What is especially good about an Echo is that it gives you a dynamic (or real-time) view of the blood flow into, through, and then from your heart.ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOWSPONSOREDCrohn's Patient Video: Enough Was EnoughREAD MORE

As you may know, your heart is made of two sides, right and left.   Each side is divided into two chambers, an atrium and ventricle.   The atrium receives blood and pumps it to the ventricle which then pumps blood out of the heart.   The right side receives blood from your body and then pumps it to your lungs, while your left side receives blood from your lungs and then pumps blood to your body.   So your left ventricle, then, is the hardest working part of your heart; think of the force need to pump blood to your ENTIRE body.

Back to your results, since we've got the left ventricle part out of the way.   Mild hypokinesia basically means that the muscle of your heart does not contract as much as most peoples' hearts do.   This may sound scary, but, do not be too worried because your ejection fraction, which measures the effectiveness of your heart contractions, is still in the normal range (normal is at least 50%).

So while you do have some deficits in your heart muscle's function, you are doing okay right now.   Hypokinesis can be the result of many diseases.   You, of course with the help of your doctors, should monitor the diseases known to contribute to heart disease, including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, etc.
